Loveland Fishing Club

Change the World with Your Computer!

Please sign up your personal computer for Longmont Fishing Club’s World Community Grid team. We currently have five members on board and need at least 10 to raise our club to Partner status, with our club logo displayed on the Grid’s web site right up there with big boys like the World Health Organization, United Way and IBM.

This won't cost you a dime, won't impact your PC's performance, and you can do some serious good for humankind and something cool for the club.

The Fishing Club is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit, and we do good deeds as well as promote good fishing. The World Community Grid is something else entirely: You can read all about it by visiting the Grid's web site, http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org.  Basically, you'll be volunteering your PC's idle time to actually help with research on subjects like cancer, AIDS and muscular dystrophy.

How to sign up

Once you're on the Grid web site, click on the logo that says "Become a Member" and just follow the directions. Then click on the headline that says "Find a Team" and join the "Loveland Fishing Club" team." That's it. There's no simpler way to help change our world for the better - or provide a good topic of conversation at our Friday morning breakfast meetings.

When you sign up, you're basically donating your PC's idle time to nonprofit research projects, using grid technology to form a single supercomputer. There are hundreds of thousand of volunteers around the globe who've signed up, and the Grid is doing great work. It would be seriously cool if one of the prominent "Partners" was http://www.lovelandfishingclub.org
In all seriousness, please give this a try.
